Quotes for Change?
Watch this video and ask yourself the following question –
Maybe a mentor is a great thing to have – someone who can lead you by the hand and show you exactly what to do and how to do it? To be taught techniques that you can use to be happy with just a little bit of effort.
A mentor, I guess, will act as your conscience always nagging you to do things when they need to be done and to stop procrastinating
Unfortunately training and mentoring like this doesn’t come free. The techniques appear to work as many famous people use trainers or life coaches to improve their quality of life.
But then they usually have the means to invest in that option.
Do you have spare money to pay for that training?
If the answer’s no – if you can’t afford to be taught then you must achieve a happy mindset by your own efforts. All you need is your physical health, clear mental faculties and the will to do it. And some happy quotes will help:
Without a humble but reasonable confidence in you own powers, you cannot be successful or happy. – Norman Vincent Peale.
There is comfort in the fact that happiness is a skill that anyone can learn with the right amount of effort. And the effort will be worthwhile to reach that state of self-fulfillment. Let some happy quotes help you on the way.
Remember, happiness doesn’t depend upon who you are or what you have; it depends solely upon what you think – Dale Carnegie.
But where do you start? You’re the only one who can help. Even if you could afford a personal mentor you still need to be in a positive frame of mind about it and that can only come from yourself.
Sometimes that seems the hardest thing to do – you have to work at it. That little voice in the back of your head is screaming at you to give up, you’re never going to good enough? – tell it to shut up.
Happiness hates the timid! – Eugene O’Neill
It’s a selfish little voice only thinking of itself. That’s where you need to think differently and learn to relax your mind like you can physically relax your muscles.
Dump the negativity – doesn’t have to be like that. We all want to be happy as well as successful but we have to work at it by finding our own way on how to do that. I believe using happy quotes can be an important ingredient in any personal solution you might decide upon.
So swallow a few happy quotes pills for a start and keep on taking as many times a day – before and after meals.

Maybe Addison’s simple recipe for happiness as illustrated in this happy quote might be something you can live by.
The grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love and something to hope for. – Joseph Addison
Keep realistic and achievable goals in mind. Keep the probabilities separate from the possibilities. You need to be able to identify what aims are reachable and you need to believe that if you set unrealistic goals can you really expect to reach them?
Happiness consists more in small conveniences or pleasures that occur every day, than in great pieces of good fortune that happen but seldom. – Benjamin Franklin
Harking back to the video, the narrative suggested that the mind defaults to negativity if your brain is not focused on some task.
This isn’t a new idea. Many people believe that you can’t be happy unless you’re busy.
Does the mind always revert to negativity when idling? If that’s true then you just need to keep your brain constantly busy if you can. And do you need to be physically busy as well — “the devil makes work for idle hands” and all that.
But I’m not sure if the mind becomes negative when we’re not engrossed in some task – it surely must depend to some degree on your physical surroundings at that time. Recent events and emotional experiences must surely have some effect as well?
Someone who has won millions on the lottery is unlikely to have negative thoughts paining his head when he’s daydreaming or thinking about nothing in particular.
If you have nothing to occupy your mind while staring out of a window at the dismal prospect of heavy rain falling steadily from a sullen grey sky then you’re not likely to be in the best of spirits. But that kind of mood doesn’t usually last too long.

But if you’re on vacation soaking up the sun with nothing particular to do I guess you’ll be feeling pretty good about things. More so if you’re on vacation from a job that you don’t like.
If you are in the unhappy position of disliking what you do for a living then that situation has to be a bar to ongoing happiness. The dreariness can be assuaged by the contemplation of some happy future prospect that you look forward to doing – going fishing, playing sports – these thoughts tend to dispel the gloom.
